Play therapy is a form of psychotherapy for children in which the therapist uses play as a means to understand and help a child to develop. It is often still too difficult or too threatening for children to talk about what is bothering them. Play is a natural and safe way for children to discover the world, to express and process feelings. Play is the language of the child. Therapeutic play provides insight into thoughts and feelings, so that the child can gain new insights emotionally and cognitively and can grow psychologically and stand in its own strength.
